Ms. Stacey M. Tanner
Innovative Leader of Instructional Technology Integration
I am Stacey M. Tanner, a proud graduate of North Atlanta High School's Performing Arts Program. I currently serve as the STEAM Signature Program Instructional Coach at Midtown High School. I specialize in blending creativity, technology, and strategic planning to support students and educators in meeting STEAM implementation goals set by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and Atlanta Public School (APS).
My journey began at home, where my father, a Unisys computer engineer, challenged me to write programs before earning screen time. This sparked a lifelong passion for technology and problem-solving. After 15 years as a choral music educator, I transitioned into instructional technology by teaching the CTAE Web & Digital Design Pathway. In this new role, I launched student tech initiatives, led professional development, and secured over 25 Donors Choose grants.
I hold a bachelor’s in music education (Alabama State), a master's in music performance (The University of Southern Mississippi), and an Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Technology (Kennesaw State University). I have been recognized as FBLA New Advisor of the Year, accomplished Industry Certification for the Business & Computer Science CTAE Pathway, and presented at ISTE (International Society for Technology in Educators) and GaETC (Georgia Educational Technology Conference) Conferences.
As a self-directed, strengths-based leader, my Top 5 Gallup Strengths—Strategic, Achiever, Relator, Learner, nd Self-Assurance—fuel my ability to:
✔ Think critically and develop long-term solutions (Strategic)
✔ Execute ideas with precision and determination (Achiever)
✔ Build authentic relationships to enhance learning (Relator)
✔ Seek knowledge and drive innovation (Learner)
✔ Lead with confidence and adaptability (Self-Assurance)
At my core, I believe education should be engaging, hands-on, and future-focused. Whether I am helping students design websites, create digital music, or develop STEAM-foced projects, my goal is always the same: to empower learners with the skills, confidence, and curiosity they need to thrive.
