Ms. Stacey M. Tanner

Innovative Leader of Instructional Technology Integration

Ms. Stacey M. Tanner currently works as a Web & Digital Design Instructor for the Grady High School Career Technology Agriculture and Engineering, CTAE, Department for Atlanta Public Schools.

As a child, her father, a computer service engineer for Unisys, required her to create programs using the technology magazines in order to earn recreational game time on the family computer.   She spent 15 years working as a choral music educator. However, in 2013 the childhood influence resurfaced while participating in the APS Instructional Technology Department’s Innovative Leaders Program. Participation in this program required her to prepare a group of students for the APS District Technology Fair which inspired her to establish and sponsor the school technology club.

The more technology she was involved with,  the more technological responsibilities she began to conduct.   These responsibilities included scheduling the school’s portable technology, hosting Hour of Code during Computer Science Week, developing a curriculum for her MakerSpace/Technology class, and presenting at the Georgia Educators in Technology Conference, GaETC, Fall 2014. Most importantly, it inspired her to complete her Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Technology, Fall 2017.
